Dec 7th: Discovery Foundation's Tech 4 Impact & Inclusion Design Jam: Cutting-Edge Assistive Tech

Tech 4 Impact & Inclusion Design Jam: Cutting-Edge Assistive Tech

Presented by the Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with Discovery Foundation

From bike share programs to online paperless banking, almost overnight, innovations are changing how we shop, commute, learn, access entertainment, and connect with others locally, regionally, and even globally.

But what about those that have difficulty navigating today’s world, let alone tomorrow’s? What shifts are required to ensure everyone has the best opportunity to succeed in all areas of their lives today?

The challenge we’ll tackle in this workshop is to envision innovations that leverage assistive and/or adaptive tech to ensure outdoor spaces and public buildings, such as parks, schools, malls, etc., are easily accessible and barrier-free for children and youth with special needs.

In contrast to traditional approaches to creativity, which typically involve sitting around waiting for inspiration, the muse to descend, or lightning to strike, we’ll get started right away by applying a systematic method of generating—or conceiving of—new and exciting ideas on demand!

Innovation without Drama. Purposeful. Systematic. Creative. Register for this full day workshop here.

Date: Saturday, Dec. 7

Time: 10AM - 4PM

Location: SFU Surrey, SP 291
