Discovery Foundation announces their 2020 Technology Education Program partners and programs

Vancouver, British Columbia, March 2, 2020: The Discovery Foundation, committed to the inclusive development and sustainability of the science and technology sector in BC, today announced the winners of their annual competition for program funding. Thus far in 2020, $273,200 will be awarded to 9 agents for the 2020 Technology Education Programs. More funds are currently available.

“We encouraged our applicants to be creative and innovative in their proposals and that was abundantly clear with the award recipients this year,” says Dr. David G. Harper, Discovery Foundation CEO. “We prioritize programing that fosters diversity and inclusion in the BC tech sector so that those on the margins have equal opportunity to thrive in our information economy. The response to our call to action was impressive. I am very confident that the agents we have engaged for our 2020 programs will have a significant social and economic impact in growing our science and technology sector and forwarding BC’s competitive advantage.

Our Technology Education Program provides $50,000 each for four successful agents in an annual competitive process. We also fund several ad hoc programs throughout the year. Please see our website, http://www.discoveryfoundation.ca for more details on the programs.

Major Programs ($50,000) have a significant impact of the BC tech sector by providing science and technology education to BC youth, mentorship to new and growing companies, and/or help to improve diversity and inclusion in the BC tech sector.
