Community Building in a Virtual World

Presented by the Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship as an agent of the Discovery Foundation delivered in partnership with Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection.

In this workshop, we rethink traditional methods of innovation and show you a systematic way to generate creative ideas to adapt to the new normal.

Sharing experiences today looks very different from just a few months ago. The conventional ways we exchanged ideas limits how we connect to each other now. So what can we do in these physically-distanced times to re-invent ways we build communities?

This Design Jam will look at the elements of community to tease out aspects for inclusion. We’ll identify ways of place making that can be re-purposed in a digital time. How will we know if our ideas are solutions?

The design thinking exercises and breakout groups will bring us together virtually to brainstorm challenges that validate ideas. Much like the skills needed for entrepreneurship! Resilience is everywhere.
