Bree Beveridge joins the Board of Directors for Discovery Foundation
Bree Beveridge is our newest member to the Board of Directors and we are thrilled to welcome her to Discovery Foundation.
Bree brings a decade of experience supporting institutions with decolonial practices and embedding Indigenous decision-makers to provide crucial perspective into strategic visioning, planning, developing, and delivering services. She is honoured to have worked with First Nations and Indigenous groups across what is now known as Canada to develop wellness solutions that meet community-specific strengths and needs and reflect their unique worldviews. She is passionate in her drive to redistribute power and elevate diverse and often under-heard voices and ensure active participation and decision-making within organizations.
Bree currently holds the role of Director, Indigenous Engagement & Inclusion for Vancouver Coastal Health. She is very grateful for the many Elders, youth, community members, and mentors that have shared their wisdom with her and guide her approach to this work. She is especially thankful to Elder Dorothy who supported with the nehiyawewin (Cree) below (translation to follow).

“Hello, my name is Bree. I am a Cree woman initially from the Qu'Appelle Valley. My mother is Cree and Swedish and my father is British. I am grateful to now live and work from the traditional territory of the Squamish Nation. I am also grateful to all of the community members I work with who graciously teach me how to do this work in a good way. All my relations.”
