Discovery Foundation applications for the 2025 Technology Education Program: Deadline Dec 18, 2024

The Discovery Foundation provides funding for programs that educate the science and technology sector, from students to senior personnel of companies, about innovation and entrepreneurship, enabling them to grow and prosper. The Foundation is seeking Agents to deliver programs that help us promote and facilitate commercial innovation and the development, growth, and sustainability of the science and technology sector in British Columbia.

What do our programs achieve?

Those involved in science and technology in British Columbia require continual and substantial education in business practices in order to develop and maintain the skills and judgment to create and grow companies that compete locally and internationally. Our Technology Education Program (TEP) provides funding to Agents to educate qualified B.C. residents who demonstrate the desire and capability to explore and upgrade their business skills to help grow world-scale, B.C.-based technology companies. We use a broad definition of technology, including: software/hardware, devices and applications, cleantech/greentech & circular economy, digital media, wireless, life sciences, and ICT.

What are our Strategic Priorities for 2025?

We fund educational programs and training that have a high impact, and for 2025 priority will be given to programs that:

  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to serving equity-deserving groups.

  • Supports innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in the Health Tech, Green Tech and Clean Tech industries.

  • Builds economic and human resource capacity across BC and considers an expanded geographic reach.

We partnered with 11 innovative Agents in 2024 to deliver our programs and we look forward to engaging with more organizations for 2025. If you are interested in learning more about becoming an Agent, reach out today to request the 2025 Technology Education Program application Guidelines.
